Feeding the future, technology for a hunger-free world
Carla Hommes, WBA’s Lead Research Food and Agriculture Benchmark, participated in a panel ‘Look ahead: achieving a hunger-free world’ as part of the Economist conference ‘Feeding the future, technology for a hunger-free world’ (26 September 2019).
The session looked at progress and positive examples. How can technological innovations and food-production processes have a beneficial environmental impact? How can unavoidable environmental impacts be minimised to reduce the harmful consequences of food production? How are environmentally sustainable business practices in other industries helping to drive progress in the food industry?
